College Scholarship

Embracing Kate’s Way will be awarding up to $4000 in college scholarship or trade school funds in 2019.  The scholarship is available to anyone with dyslexia who will be graduating high school in the spring of 2019 and is planning on furthering his or her education.

Qualified individuals must reside in the greater Louisville area.  The student must provide a copy of their 504 Plan or a letter from a facility stating the applicant received remedial services for dyslexia.  The Scholarship winner will be someone who has shown how they have overcome and achieved with dyslexia.  We will be looking for someone who shows a strong work ethic, high future ambitions, and also wants to give back and become a role model for other dyslexic children.

Instructions for completion are found on the application and should be downloaded, printed out and included with your application packet.  Application packets must be post marked no later than April 30th to be eligible.

Finalists for the scholarship will be asked to meet at the Oldham County Public library in La Grange for an interview with the previous scholarship winners before a decision is made.  A final decision will be made no later than May 15th.

The scholarship will be paid directly to the financial office of the college or trade school of the winner's choice and must be used within six months of notification.  The scholarship recipient will need to provide an acceptance letter from the educational facility.
